My comments on tutoring Drama : I was very involved with theater in high school and learned a lot about acting and auditioning.

I am currently an English major, specifying in creative writing, at Virginia Tech. In high school, I took both of the offered AP English courses and passed with a 4 on both. In college, almost every class I have taken has been English-oriented, with regards to either literature or writing. When it comes to helping others, I have been editing friends' papers some in high school and multiple times weekly in college. I am able to find what they are doing wrong and constructively advise ways to fix their problems with writing.
I like to see examples of what the person is having difficulty with in order to pinpoint problems and then work on them from there.

I love working with children of all ages. I can say I am patient enough to deal with elementary students being that I've done so before. I love to have fun with learning and can bring the fun of learning to the classroom. I want the students to want to learn and that is what I am going to bring to the table.
Children's church is where a year of my experience comes from. I would guide a group of children during the service and would spend individual time with those who wanted to brush up on their reading and writing. Education has always been one of my greatest facinations. I achieved a BA in English grammars, a MLA in creative writing, and fifteen credits towards a PhD in literature and literary criticism. I discovered the writing center at my undergraduate university and became a tutor immediately. I found that I was in a position to learn just as much at the students I tutored. I retired from teaching after thirty one years in a variety of places. I began teaching English and drama in 1974 in Alleghany County, Virginia. After two years there, I moved to Sussex County, Virginia, where I taught for one year. I got married in 1977, and taught in Charleston, South Carolina where my husband was stationed while he was in the Navy. In 1979, I returned to Sussex and taught another year before finally coming home to Goochland, Virginia. I spent the remainder of my teaching career there. From 1980 through 1995, I taught English 9 and 10 and drama in the high school.
