A Little Bit About Me...

As both a teacher and a counselor I have worked to develop a teaching style that is student focused. In order to do that I want to inspire and challenge the student to reveal their abilities and interests and track them as they develop. The student and I will set specific goal areas with attainable steps, so that we can both check the progress. With a thorough knowledge of the material along with good organization, the process of learning can be creative and lively for both the student and the teacher.
After high school I achieved a BS from George Peabody College for teacher, however did not teach for money until many years later after I received my MS. Teaching is my passion. Students need to be challenged, engaged, and eager to learn which is fueled by the enthusiasm of the teacher. I recognize that not every student in my classroom learns in the same manner. Various teaching methods need to be combined so that students have the opportunity to learn in multiple ways. The more opportunities that are available for a student to learn, the more valuable the education becomes for the student. A Little Bit About Me...

My experience ranges a great deal and encompasses a lot of subject matter from K-12 Math to English and Literature. My wide range of expertise is indicative of my schooling where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications that exposed me to the Liberal Arts world; while my minor in Industrial and Systems Engineering and Master of Science degree in Information Technology exposed me to more technical subject matter (i.e. various levels of Math).
