How do I summarize teaching in my life? I guess the best way to explain my teaching experience is to tell you a story. As a young girl I wanted to be a teacher. I believe that each student learns differently. The order in which a topic is taught to one person may not be the best way for someone else to understand the material. So I strongly support the use of flow charts, comparison charts, timelines, and picture diagrams with detailed descriptions. I think it is important to first identify where in the lecture the material becomes confusing or difficult, and then determine which organizational diagram should be used to simplify the flow and details of the material presented. I hope after the tutoring sessions the students gain new study techniques such as using diagrams and charts to speed up and clarify any type of subject matter that is presented to them in the future. I would best describe my method of teaching as a give and take experience. Through diologue, I am able to lead the student through the thought process that will derive the correct answer.
