I enjoy teaching children at all levels. I find that children learn at different speeds and by different means. I began tutoring while in high school, as a junior and senior I would spend 2-3 afternoons a week at the Middle School helping the learning support classes write book reports. While in college at Slippery Rock University, I put up flyers around campus and worked as an independent tutor for five dollars an hour aiding my fellow students finish their final papers at the end of each semester. I feel that my degree in Creative Writing aids me greatly in tutoring because my ability to think outside the box and put myself in the writers shoes helps me to better understand their writing style.
