Experienced SAT & ACT Math, Chemistry, and Biology Tutor

Hello, My name is Youngjae! I graduated from Johns Hopkins University and have double major degrees in both Public Health and the Natural Sciences Area. While I tutor a number of subjects, math, biology, and chemistry are my favorites. In college, I worked as a biology mentor with the Biology department, where I helped my peers learn difficult concepts and ultimately excel in the class. Additionally, I have extensive experience working as a private tutor and helped with lots of SAT and ACT math test preparation. After college I worked for three years.During that time I applied and received a scholarship to the Medical College of Pennsylvania, from which I graduated in 1994. I completed an Internal Medicine Residency at MCP in 1997. After residency I worked as an attending physician in Pittsburgh from 1997 to 2000, and in Berlin, Maryland, from 2001 to 2004. In January, 2004, my wife became severely ill, and I decided to take time off to raise my two young daughters. I taught at the Dawn Training Center in Wilmington, DE, from May to October, 2006. I also have extensive experience teaching junior housestaff and Nurse Practitioner trainees.
I have a fairly informal teaching style, and I tend to use a lot of humor. I try to connect the information I am trying to convey to what the student already knows, rather than simply provide facts to be learned by rote and regurgitated on an exam.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Ph.D in Physical/Organic Chemistry. I come from a family of Chemists, scientists and doctors. I have been teaching chemistry for over 15 years in a private University in Baltimore. I am an experienced teacher in chemistry. Chemistry is second nature to me.
I am competent in teaching all areas of chemistry. I enjoy every moment of my teaching and very passionate about chemistry. I go extra mile to make my students understand and spend extra time with weaker students. I have tutored, general and organic chemistry to several college students. I also tutored General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry for 2 years at Naval Academy. I love computer science. I am also teaching Microsoft application-office 2007 for the past 4 years in addition to chemistry courses. I will be very happy to tutor students for their standardized tests like PCAT and MCAT and AP chemistry.
