ACT is one of my top subjects! I am experienced in the English and Reading components of the ACT, both in content and strategies.

I like to make learning an interactive process as I believe students are more likely to retain what they learn when they have an active role in their success of understanding the material. Although I establish that I am the one in charge, I try to create a relaxed environment where the student feels comfortable enough to be open with their struggles, concerns, and questions. I don't give away answers, but am there to help the student realize that they have what it takes to find the answers on their own. I worked in the tutoring section of both East Tennessee State University and Southern State Community College. I did not major in the subjects which I listed (I minored in Chemistry), but I do have experience as tutor. At Southern State, I tutored basic math and Algebra Courses to adult students who had been out of school for several years.
