Every job I've ever had has been one where I teach. I had a job 3 years teaching ballroom dance, 2 years I coached T-ball, and for 4 years I've tutored math. I just recently graduated and I can't see myself not helping someone learn and love math. Math isn't a subject that everyone loves but I believe that can change with the right teacher. My BS in physics, as well as my work in an atmospheric physics lab, has given me a strong mathematical and physical science background. I have tutored, and taught some classes in summers and winter breaks both while at UMBC, and at Towson, where I currently attend graduate school for education.
I belief that conceptual understanding is the foundation of learning. Teaching kids to solve a specific problem that they can't do doesn't accomplish much, in my opinion.
