My comments on tutoring Microsoft Access : I have taken courses to help my perfect my Microsoft Access skills. I can help anyone learn how to use this tool and have university-sanctioned activities through which to do so.

I like to teach as if I am one friend talking to another. I find that this is the most relaxed way to encourage learning. While a relaxed atmosphere is important, my parents (both elementary and high school teachers) showed me the importance of completing objectives. I will push you, my friend, to learn as much as possible - and retain that information - during our time together.
I am in my third year at Ball State University. I recently changed my major from Biology to Accounting; therefore, I have lots of knowledge in many different areas - some that aren't listed on my profile. My teaching style is one of friendly leadership. Working through problems or lessons with the student by leading them through it, then working it with them side by side while explaining the details helps them achieve the accomplishment of learning without making them feel as if they were just instructed how to do it. Helping a student learn is more than just teaching them a lesson in math, science, or English; it’s about being someone that they can look up to as a role model, being someone that they can learn from in more than just an academic manner, and being someone who is there for them when they need something. A Little Bit About Me...

I began homeschooling my children in 1993. My older son was in 8th grade, my younger son was in 4th grade, my oldest daughter was in Kindergarten, and my twin daughters were 2 years old. My older son graduated with 2 bachelor degrees after spending a year in France as an English teacher in a high school. My younger son graduated with a double degree and a minor. Both are currently in grad school. My oldest daughter will be returning to school next year after a 2-year leave. My twin daughters will begin college in the fall. Homeschooling has enabled me to keep abreast of current learning as well. I have tutored 3 students in the last year, all three in algebra and the one student in geometry, too.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love children and I love teaching children. I teach using a variety of methods. I have learned that children have different ways of learning. Some children are visual learners so I used plenty of visual aids when teaching these children. Some children are kinetic learners so I made sure that I used manipulatives when teaching these children. I believe that all children have a "best way" to learn. I determine what that way is, and then I taylor the way I teach to that way. I love seeing a child light up when they "get it". I love learning and I want to pass that love on to others.
As a parent concerned about the condition of the public school system we decided to homeschool our last two children. I am a professional with a B.S. degree and with 18 years experience in the health science field. I also have extensive experience in various areas of business. In addition, I am proficient in many different computer programs, which has allowed me to train and mentor people in use of various computer software. In the past year I have direct experience leading classes and teaching students. I am comfortable writing reports and essays and have excellent knowledge of English and grammar.
