Gayle Evans is a certified Barton tutor. She has a driving passion to teach dyslexic learners, empowering them to overcome their fears and thrive the way they were meant to. Upon finishing a busy era of home educating her own children, after the fact, she realized at least two of her children had dyslexia. A Little Bit About Me...

During my four years at East TN State University (ETSU), I tutored college students in General and Organic Chemistry, and multiple Psychology courses. I also taught for Kaplan Test Prep in small classes and prepared high school students for the SAT and ACT. I graduated in 2004 with a BS in Psychology. I then went to South College to get my teaching certificate. I student taught for 16 weeks under two wonderful mentoring teachers, and started subbing in January 2005. In August 2005 I received a full-time teaching position, and that is my current career.
I love teaching and tutoring children of all ages. Although I have only formally been tutoring for about 6 years, I was a tutor all through my childhood helping other children learn when I finished with my classwork.
