As an Early Childhood Education major, I have had over 300 practicum hours of experience in different classroom settings ranging from preschool aged children to third grade. I have also had two months experience of student teaching in a kindergarten and preschool age classroom. In addition to these hands on experience, I have had over 100 credit hours of courses discussing, experiencing and reading about different techniques in how to teach children. I spent a year tutoring students for an academic competition that tested all skill areas including, writing, math, history and science. In 2000 I volunteered in the local high school's journalism class because of my passion for writing. The following year I was offered a position as yearbook adviser, and I further developed my skills with high school students. Since 2004 I have been a private tutor, teaching all elementary subjects as well as most middle school and high school curriculum.
