Building Future Business Minded Youth

I have had 5+ years of experience in a coporate business environment. In this environment, I coached customer service representatives of varies levels on how to become more customer service savy and business minded. I believe it is very important fro one to posses the skills that are needed to become sucessful in today's society. These skills not only include the fundamentals of school (math, science, language arts, social studies, and etc) but they also inclde how to make yourself more marketable to companies and polishing professional skills to become successful in college.
I am a hand-on type of teacher. I realized that people have various ways of learning so I must adapt to his or her learning style in order for the student to become succeful at the topic that they are trying to learn.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with an M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of South Carolina in May of 2010. Directly after graduating, I began a career as an Academic Advisor in the Moore School of Business Undergraduate Division at the University of South Carolina. I currently still hold this job. I also taught a University 101 course to 25 incoming freshmen in the Fall of 2010. This course included helping the students get acquainted with resources on campus, learn study/time management strategies, and much more. Also, while in graduate school, I worked about 5-10 hours per week as an Academic Success Coach in the Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) at the University of South Carolina.

With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives.
