I like to make learning an experience. I typically try to relate certain problems or topics to the child's actual life to make it easier for them to learn. I feel as if the best way to learn is to have fun.
I am an honors high school student and I have never made anything below a B in any class. My specialties are math and English, being that I receive the highest grade in the two subjects. Instead, my goal was to educate students about the fundamentals of writing papers, such as formulating a clear thesis and establishing a clear paragraph structure. I love to help children understand a subject better. It is a great feeling to see a student get the idea after being helped. I believe that every student is capable of learning; it all depends on their learning style. In my masters program and while I have been teaching, I have learned many ways to get students engaged in the material they are learning. Some students learn better with one on one and some do better with group work. You just have to try different approaches until you see which one works best. Sometimes it just depends on what is being taught. If you show interest in the student he/she will show more interest in your class or subject area and do better.
