Substitute for Elementary Schools and Junior High Schools from 2004 to 2006, off and on. I've been teaching Guitar and Skateboarding Basics for the past five years. Very hands-on. I will get on their level and help them understand in the easiest way possible. I am currently a high school senior, I have made good grades in all of my classes, my GPA is 3.0. I tutor my brother and some of his friends, I take concurrent college classes and am enrolled in my 2nd year of Indian Capitol Technology Center. I have home schooled two child over the past 16 years. Both children have excelled in school and are my pride and joy. I am presently a substitute teacher, and a creative arts teacher. I volunteer as an art teacher at the local community center; It gives the children a way to express themselves through art. Lessons are designed to the needs of each individual. Each person is different and has a unique way of learning the material. It is my job to find out how an individual learns so that they will be able to comprehend the lessons at a hand.

I have tutored many students in math, and a few students in English in the past. I am always able to adapt to how the student learns, and help them understand the material. I have worked with students from the age of 7 to the age of 15, from elementary English to Algebra 2, I have made it so the student can understand the concepts they are learning in school. Depending on the students learning style and the subject, my teaching style will differ. If the student is a visual learner than I will create PowerPoints and other visual aids to help them. If the student is kinesthetic than I may create a project for them to do (if the parent is ok with it), or I may have them interact more during the tutoring than with the visual learner. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and pre-medicine. I have experience working with children who have autism. Elementary education is important to me since it is the foundation upon which later learning is built. I believe that all students have strengths and weaknesses and that each child deserves the opportunity to succeed in school. While psychology was my primary area of study, I am excellent with reading, writing, and medical related sciences. Being a kinesthetic learner I am familiar with the challenges a traditional classroom setup create. I know how to help an introverted child move to the head of the class and tailor their study habits to their abilities. Reading is important at all ages and comes more easily for some than others.
