Math can lead to greater success.

I have experience tutoring elementary math, algebra, geometry, college algebra , and preparation for the ASVAB and SAT tests. While tutoring my students I not only explain the method in solving a math problem, but I also challenge them with leading questions. I want to ultimately help them to develop a process to efficiently work through a problem. Also, I have a strong desire for my students to succeed in passing their class. Finally, I am passionate about students reaching their goals in math and other areas of their life.
I use both tactile and working through examples to explain how to solve a problem. I like to break down the problems into smaller pieces and work each piece at a time. I also backtrack to previous related concepts to ensure understanding.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Stephen F Austin State University in 2006 with a B.S. majoring in both Mathematics and Chemistry. I also have 20 college hours in Physics as well as 16 college hours in Biology. The educational goals of the departments is that it is not enough to do well on exams and homework, a successful student must be able to communicate the ideas and information to people of various levels of familiarity with the material. A Little Bit About Me...

My degree in Engineering has given me plenty of experience in math and science. I have also had graduate courses in Physics and Engineering. As a graduate student at UNT, I instructed several physics and astronomy labs and learned first hand what teaching can be like. I have since felt that teaching math and science is a career I want to pursue.
I have always had a passion for learning, and helping others learn. In middle school, High School and College, other students came to me for help with assignments.
