I am a very patient teacher who treats students with respect. It is my goal to reach all learners and meet their needs from all ability levels and cultural backgrounds. I involve students in the learning process by giving them choices and input in project development, technology integration and enrichment/acceleration. I have taught elementary school for 16 years. I believe that all children want and try to do their best, but sometimes need an extra push. I think it is necessary to use the appropriate curriculum, but to find out what teaching method works best for each student as we all learn differently. It is also important for each child/student to have some flexibility in what they learn in order to express their individuality and own creativity. I have been caring for children of all ages for the last 9 years, which includes tutoring and metoring. I am also in my second year as a substitute teacher, in which I teach grades pre-k through 12th grade.
