The teaching style I use is solely dependent on the learning style of the student I am teaching. I have been working with the public for over 20 years, in that time I have worked with young adults as well as mature adults. I have also done some substitute teaching in elementary and high school levels. My experience is in food service and have dealt with many walks of life. I am a very committed member of Lincoln Kiwanis International as well as a member of the Central United Methodist Church. While I was a student at the University of Missouri I received a 5 hour A in Chemistry. All people can learn, you just have to find a way to make the student understand the information, if its hands on or reading or a combination of both. I enjoy teaching and assisting students to obtain a goal. I enjoy the change in attitude and increase in self confidence when "it finally clicks" and students realize they understand the subject matter at hand and CAN do it. I think everyone is capable of learning anything, the key is to figure out what style works for them. I believe, by currently being a student myself, I have a better understanding of the stresses and constraints on students. I think my style varies greatly depending on the student, and everyone learns at there own pace.
