After working at Outdoor Science School for the last two years, I have changed in the ways I approach children and their learning. There are so many different learning styles, as there are many different children. Each child learns in a unique way and I believe that if we take the time to know the child, we can change the way we approach teaching them. In community college I began working at a youth center and became a youth counselor/tutor. I helped students ages 9-20 in a variety of academic subjects, especially ELA. I spent three years working there and when I moved to another job as a Case Manager in a middle school, I still spent every afternoon at the center volunteering my time.
