After learning various teaching and learning styles at Indiana State University, I feel it is important to find each child’s unique learning style. After this is accomplished, I then apply the teaching styles that the student will learn best from. I enjoy using visuals and hands-on activities when working with a student. Over the course of my professional career, I have spent 22 of my 25 years as a 4th grade teacher. This was a goal of time since childhood, having been inspired by my own 4th grade teacher. I still love this age and remain inspired by my own students. I have, over the years, received training through my full time employer to keep me up to date of the ever changing techniques that education introduces. While at A&T, I earned a degree in African American studies, in which I learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing graduate level research papers.
