I am a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of accounting and finance experience. Although I have no formal teaching degree, I feel that I would be an excellent tutor. First, I have successfully trained many employees over the years. Second, my two sons, ages 21 and 19 graduated numbers 2 and 1 in their high school classes, respectively. Now, both are "straight A" students at the University of Tennessee. Here, I feel that I have lead by example. I have been teaching Latin actively without interruption since 1978. I have been teaching in public high school for 19 years and have continued to tutor throughout this time. I have continued to produce students who consistently score 700+ on SAT II in Latin.My students are now studying Latin at all the major colleges in this state. I have repeatedly worked with students of college age and even adult learners. I am expert in the simple,but effective explanation of Latin grammar and the creation of learning experiences that create learning. I have also used computer tech to supplement more traditional teaching method. I can save a willing student hours of frustration by properly orienting them and showing the steps that learning and applying Latin will require.
