Friendly tutor with over five years of experience working with children and adults of all ages. I am a an active learner and listener, so students and I are able to build relationships quickly and can focus on making learning engaging. Prior to working with any student, I always review the subject matter and prepare well in advance to tailor the lesson to the student's individual learning style. I try to engage my students in every way possible. Reading and reciting are great for vocabulary memorization, but I try very hard to bring the subject matter to life in a meaningful way to the student. Pictures, music, relevant historical information- anything to help facilitate learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I worked at Elohim Center tutoring the kids at an after school homework center in Hartsville, SC. I also worked at Hartsville School of Performing Arts for a short time period. However I provided assistance to the teachers and mentored the children that had potential, but didn't have the extra push in life to motivate them to be more. I worked at Billie Hardee Home for Boys in Darlington, SC as a volunteer I provided teen age boys the assistance in tutoring them with math, reading, and science. I have earned a BA in Criminology and an Associates in Sociology. As a soldier helping people is not a job or a career, it's my choice in life to give and be rewarded through the final product of a completed task.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and showing them something new. I feel a sense of reward when a student of mine realizes that they have a new concept. When the lightbulb comes on it is the best feeling in the world. I believe that given the right tools and the right environment all students can learn anything that they put their minds to. I am not a dictator in my teaching style, more of a teammate. I work alongside students guiding them to the next step. I am a fan of I do, we do, you do.
