My work experience has been as the Controller in turn-around situations, manufacturing, distribution and agriculture operations as well as small family operated construction and retail companies. I tutored College Algebra and Trigonometry to students at Arizona State University and taught and coached children swimming and diving teams. My style of teaching is to first get the student to understand the basics that are needed as a foundation. For example, my friend was having trouble completing accounting homework and I soon realized that it was because he had not memorized the basic equations; i.e., "assets - liabilities = owner's equity," and "beginning inventory + purchases - ending inventory = cost of goods sold." Just about impossible to advance without the basics.
At Hartnell College I tutured math and economics. Recently I tutored a co-worker who was taking a college Accounting class and he appreciated it and said that I was very helpful.
