My approach is to encourage students to define their learning goals and then to discover how the learning the content can help them achieve their goals. I like to use real life examples to help students recall what they have learned. I am less interested in rote memorization. I tend to be structured and patient.
I am a seasoned veteran of working for a large agency with multiple responsibilities across the State of Virginia. Anatomy is one of my top subjects!

I have been in the health care profession for almost 20 years. I began my nursing career as a nursing assistant, worked as a LPN for 6 years before I became a RN in 2004. I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2013 and am currently studying for a Masters of Nursing as an Educator. I have practiced mainly in the acute care arena with a focus on medical-surgical an progressive care nursing. I also have extensive experience in infusion therapy, abdominal transplant, diabetes education, and in home health and long-term care. I recently became Board Certified in medical-surgical nursing through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

I have over 10 years of experience in the education field with a special love for tutoring Mathematics. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an undergraduate degree (BS) in Biology and a graduate degree (PhD) in Physiology. I have experience as a Professor of Anatomy in Graduate Physical Therapy curriculum. I have taught Anatomy and Physiology and to students from elementary school to graduate medical studies. I have most of my teaching years teaching Allied Health Students at the community college level.
I believe that much of the difficulty in learning Science is that people try to learn a series of facts rather than a story. It is difficult to do well when a student is dependent on his/her ability to recall from extensive facts where no understanding of the interrelationship is appreciated. I am a very driven individual and always looking for ways to educate myself. I graduated from Purdue University with two Bachelor of Science degrees in Health Physics and Industrial Hygiene. I have had to work on my personal and educational skills working with this degree at a Nuclear Power Plant. Currently I am working on a doctorate degree in Dentistry and enjoy it very much.
