I have earned two degrees in business administration. I have 20 years of practical business experience to go with my education. I have a very good grasp of high school and college algebra, and business calculus. I have had to write a master's thesis as well as many papers throughout my graduate and undergraduate career. I am experienced in economics, business finance, accounting and marketing. I have facilitated over 50 training classes in my business career. I am a very patient person and I really like to see the "sparkle" in a students eye, when they truly understand something for the 1st time. I like to explain a concept and then give the student a problem and see if they get it. If not, I will go over as many times necessary...until they understand the material. I have a recent Bachelor's in Accounting, as well as 15+ years of accounting experience in both private and non-profit settings. While working at Thornhill Education Center, I had the opportunity to work with students and help teach GED classes. My main focus was math. I was an Adult Education Instructor for Jefferson County Public Schools for two years. I provided adults and families with quality educational services needed to upgrade skills or obtain a GED. Some of my job duties included recruiting, testing, and retaining adult learners. I have also developed lesson plans and facilitated learning through the use of technology. I have earned my B.S.B.A in Accounting as well as a M.A. in Management and Leadership. My strongest areas of study are in math and writing. I enjoy teaching, I find it to be one of the most rewarding expeirences not only for the learner but for the teacher as well. Although my experience is with adult learners, I would welcome the opportunity to work with children.
