My name is Kary Heath. I graduated valedictorian from Luther High School in the spring of 2014. I am in my second semester at the University of Oklahoma and currently have 38 hours of college credit. I have always loved to teach, and loved to travel and meet new people. This led to traveling for a summer during college to Mexico City, living with a Spanish-speaking family. I also spent twelve weeks in West Africa teaching ESL and speaking French before my senior year at OBU. After graduation, I lived in Northern California (where I had also spent a summer during college), teaching ESL to adult Mexican immigrants, tutoring middle-school Korean students, and spending one summer in Southeast Asia while earning a Masters and TESL certificate. While studying at the University of Oklahoma, I became interested in tutoring and helping those less fortunate. I began tutoring at a program called Tuesday Tutors which provides free-of-charge tutoring to all students Junior High level and above (although we often helped out Elementary students who stopped by). I also became active in ESL/Literacy tutoring. I tutored ESL for 7 months prior to graduating. I have now graduated with three Bachelor degrees and am now seeking a Master's in Philosophy.
