A Little Bit About Me...

I adapt individual tutoring techniques to each student’s specific needs and learning style. I teach study skills that students can use the rest of their academic career. I am patient, caring and supportive to each student. I am available for home work emergencies and pretest studies. I prefer to work with student and parents as a team with open communications.
While attending college I tutored fellow students in Literature, History and Political Science. I was able to help failing students achieve a minimum of passing grades while some excelled to A’s in their class. I raised six children and not only did I spend many hours helping my own children with their home work I also helped neighbor children complete theirs as well.

Later, I began substitute teaching in the English department at Boys Ranch High School, a facility providing care for children who have removed from their homes. As a result, I completed 41 graduate hours in English at West Texas A&M University, and attended Cambridge University in the United Kingdom in Shakespearean studies. I tutored students for profit and as a volunteer, areas of competence in tutoring include English and Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies, and History.
