My comments on tutoring Shakespeare : Shakespeare's written expressions, poetry, and drama uses eloquent words, old English terms, and very puzzling words that needs analysis of his message. Students enjoy Shakespeare's works once they acquired the skills in interpreting his message. some of his stories, poems , and drama are focused on horrible thoughts and justice such as "The Raven", "The Death of a Salesman", and "The Merchant of Venice".

I started teaching right after my college graduation from Philippine Normal University. I taught ESL (English as A Second Language in public schools from 1968 - 1985. From 1985 - 1991 I taught at the United States Refugee Program. On October 1991 I was sent by the US Refugee Program to University of Omaha, Nebraska as a guest lecturer on ESL. From a 4.0 G.P.A to sales office growth I have learned a lot and am eager to share my experience in order to help others. English is and will always be my favorite subject. With writing skills, I prefer small groups. This makes it more productive for the learners. I teach with many visual examples and I involve the students in the learning process by helping them to realize their own weaknesses. I believe that students do not know what they are doing wrong unless I shows them along the way. Constructive criticism is integral to the process. I believe that quality trumps quantity. It is better for a student to fully understand the idea even if it means covering less material. One well-written paper is better than five papers that have the same mistakes in them. Studying one Shakespearean play in detail is better than glossing over five in order to say that I covered many plays with the students.

My teaching style is quite organized, but also empathetic. I allow for students to use their various aptitudes and abilities to learn. For example, when a student normally presents a report to the class, that student reads from his notes. I had one student who was musically inclined and played her guitar to make her presentation. She used her musical skills quite effectively.
I am currently certified in the state of Arizona in the following subjects: English, Latin and general sciences. I teach two courses of Latin at Glendale Community College, Glendale, Arizona. One class is in the classroom and the other is on the Internet. I also am a substitute teacher in Peoria, Arizona.
