My comments on tutoring Genetics : If you understand statistics and enjoy geneology, you are one of the few, but with a little bit of work, I can help you understand Genetics a whole lot better.

I am a hands on type of a tutor, I start from the basics and work my way up to their current subjects, so that they can build on a good foundation, understanding the basics is the most critical step to understanding the complexities of Algebra and above, and how the sciences start to get more complex in human anatomy and physiology.
In my years of education, I found that some of the methods used for teaching these subjects were inadequately explained, therefore causing students not to truly understand how to apply mathematics and science in school and their every day life. I have learned how to tutor in these subjects from raising my own children, all of whom found these subjects to be hard until I showed them how to avoid the pitfalls of our educations system. I perfer using visual aids like drawings, and graphs for illustration. I'm not available for in home tutoring, I tutor only in the library or in public areas. I always make sure that I make a difference in my students' lives.

I pride myself in the fact that I am a life long learner. I continued my education in graduate school in order to excel in my professional field, but also to assist others in their life long goals. My masters will be completed in May of 2007 in the field of Education with an emphasis in Counseling/Human Relations. I will utilize this education as a means to counsel, teach and explore. I have excellent written and oral skills and I have extensive knowledge in the health science field.
My style of teaching varies per student. I am able to adapt to fit the child's style of learning. I have found that many students are discovery students or kinetic learners. I enjoy giving examples and finding understanding in a problem. Children need positive enforcement and encouragement. I enjoy working will all age groups and seeing each child achieve their goals.
