Our tutors are trained to be able to relate problems to the real world, making them concrete and simple. For example, a question may ask what is 7 times 25? This problem is abstract and challenging to some people. Thus, I rephrase it to, "If you have 7 quarters in your pocket, how much money do you have?" By making the problem more relatable to the student, the problem suddenly appears easier and less intimidating. Our tutors go through training on how to assess each student's individual learning style, and know how to adapt to each student. A Little Bit About Me...

When in school I did not like that my major was Accounting. I did not enjoy my classes or teachers, now out of school I enjoy my job and accounting more than I ever thought I would. I like to teach and show students how accounting effects their everyday life. Accounting has so many real life applications that the book can not show you, and I enjoy having students enjoy accounting as much as I do.
When I graduated from Bradley University I was looking for ways to keep up with the accounting functions. One way that really helped me was tutoring. I have always loved woriking with children. My first experience of the rewarding feeling was in St Louis MO. I volunteered at a Children's hosital with terminally ill children. I worked for three hours in a play atmosphere with terminally ill children and their siblings. Unfortunetly, it realistically was a place where many parents dropped their children because they could not cope. I made it my goal to make it a fun happy time. There were many days where it brought me to tears to witness their unconditional love and acceptance of each other and others. I became many of these children's families and someone to depend on.
