I use a hands-on approach that involves students using white boards, and kinesthetic movement.
I have been teaching 3rd grade for the past two years. Before that, I student taught 1st and 5th Grade - so am familiar with K-5 curriculum. In addition to teaching in the United States, I also have taught in Mexico and soon-to-be China. I am a natural Teacher. I enjoy individual instruction because it offers me the flexibility to shape my approach to that which is most appropriate for the individual that I am helping. If I see that one method is not quite working by directly interacting with the student I can offer an alternative that can be more effective. When compared to group instruction you can be just as specific as required and not have to use a method that works for the majority but not all of the students.
