Most of my career has been spent at IBM, where I built on my Physics background for a broad range of opportunities. I am now seeking to move into a teaching career and plan to start a Masters in Teaching in the Fall of 2009. During my educational development, I taught for three years in undergraduate and graduate school as part of the duties of a teaching Assistant. Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work. A Little Bit About Me...

I like being with children. I think that their interests change, develop and grow and as such I love to learn about the things they are interested in, and enjoy them as well. As such, I find ways to communicate and work with children so that they learn well.
A not so great student, I found that I still loved learning. I love stories in all forms. I have a degree in History from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. I love politics and history, and found Library Science a natural extension of history and political science. Thus I now have a Masters degree in Library Science.
