Even before I graduated from NDNU with my teaching credential in English and social studies, I have tutored for several years in almost every subject. I have come to understand that each individual has his/her own unique way of learning. The way I teach is very simple. I explain my teaching style using the analogy of a mother bird teaching her baby how to fly. The mother guides her baby, teaching it, showing it the ropes of life, and when it comes time, the baby flies off on its own with no help. This is quite similar to how I teach and tutor children. I guide them through lesson plans and homework with a helping hand, and when it comes time for them to "fly," I let them go and hopefully they will understand the concept and be able to work individually. When this happens, it is truly an inspiring moment, to be there and watch children grow.

I have always had good math skills. In my experience, merely obtaining a solution to a problem is not learning, it is the journey from unsolved question to simplified answer is true knowledge.
