A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate of Lynn University, I am very much driven to help students excel in Academics. I work for a grant funded program called, Upward Bound which I work and mentor high school students in the pursuit of going to to post-secondary education. I mentor students in financial aid, homework assistance, essay, reference letters, procedures how to get into college..I have also tutored students in reading, science, math, English, psychology.
I believe all students can learn if they put their mind into it and have someone supporting them in their efforts. I like to mentor/tutor outside the box, by being creative in my approach, for example: showing them math by painting and measuring, or baking..It helps the student realize that education is everywhere in life..It is not something that is only used in a classroom.

I have been teaching, volunteering and tutoring for 25 years. I owned an in home child care and wrote all the curriculum for 10 years. I have taught "Train the Trainer" classes for teachers in preschool and elementary school. I have worked for over a year with SES programs tutoring at schools, in homes, in the evenings and weekends. I've enjoyed working with kids who teach me as much as I teach them. I believe it takes a special talent and caring to teach kids when their home environment doesn't support learning. As a college graduate,I believe education has always been the foundation to a successful future.
