My comments on tutoring Study Skills : I have a BA in English. Was also a Nanny helping children with study skills.

While in College I was a part time nanny for a single Mom with twins. I started taking care of the twins when they were 2 and continued until they were almost 4. I was an assistant teacher part time at little playmates preschool daycare. During my time there I worked with the 2 and 3 year old class and the 4 and 5 year old class. I also helped the older children with homework. I was responsible for helping with meals, playtime and supervising outside activities. I also volunteered at the learning tree center daycare preschool where I helped with story time and art activities. I was a religious education teacher from 2003 to 2004. I was a peer tutor for four years as a student at Lubbock Christian University, working with fellow students in English, history, study skills, GRE prep, philosophy, and algebra. I am currently working on a Master's Degree in Education. I have tutored occasionally since graduating from LCU, working with elementary kids through adults pursuing graduate education.
I prefer to meet with you sometime before we get started for coffee or something, to make iron out things like payment and the details and expectations of the tutoring job, and to make sure neither of us thinks the other is an ax murderer.

A Little Bit About Me...

During college I worked for NMSU and CYFD providing two types of tutoring services. With NMSU I worked with fellow college students in classes that I previously passed, which mainly included Accounting and Math. With CYFD I worked with young mothers trying to obtaining their GED. I helped create good study habits and tutored them in all areas included in the GED; Social Studies, Math, Language Arts, and Science. While in college I took several communication classes which had presentations in front of 100 or more students. I took intermediate algebra along with statistics and business calculus. I work with computers on a regular basis (including the internet and Microsoft Office) and have taken several advanced excel courses.
