I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. I then worked various jobs working with the public. Although much of work experience is not in the teaching field, I have worked with people in many ways to reach their full potential and can relate to them on a level that they will comprehend. I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember. I enjoy teaching and working with all children. They are our future. Through my teaching career, I have seen that children learn in many different ways. Some children learn faster than others and there are some children who are visual learners and others who are audio learners. When I first meet children either in a classroom or by tutoring them, I like to give a quick assessment of their learning because that is how I derive my lessons. If a child or a group of children need visual props, I will create them or if a child would need to be challenged then I would extend my lessons and materials academically higher.
