Critical thinking skills and untraditional ways are what I focus on. However the way someone learns, I will try to set the individual up to show how they learn and work with them. I am currently working as a substitute teacher in many districts in metro Detroit. I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Trigonometry at Oakland Christian School where I did my student teaching internship. Although the majority of my work experience is in business, my selling and people skills are tremendous as a teacher. Asking the "right" questions are the key to sales and can also be applied to teaching.
I like to have the kids be interactive with my my teaching. I have the kids fill out "fill in the blanks" while I am lecturing and I like to have the kids come up to the board and do problems after the lecturing. I also like to apply real world applications when possible.

Experienced Mathematics Tutor

I like to use what the student already knows to prompt them forward into discovering how to complete the problem at hand on their own with guidance. My comments on tutoring College Algebra : I would just need 10 minutes to refresh my information

I have been a math tutor since 6th grade and have continued to tutor since that point. All of my results have been positive, and I can guarantee improvement. I have attended Wayne state university Math Corps summer enrichment program as both a student for 3 years and as a tutor for 3 years, an uncommon feat. I was a member of the Michigan league of academic games from grades 4 to 8, going to the state finals each year. Math is literally my bread and butter.
I prefer one on one tutoring to fully understand any shortcomings or misunderstandings toward the subject. I will make math more relatable and focus on the fundamentals to improve speed and to make future subject matter easier to adjust to.
