A Little Bit About Me...

While attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell I work to help other students that were having difficulty understanding the material presented. I obtained a bachelor of science in Civil Engineering, with a concentration in Structural Analysis. The course work gave me a very strong understanding of Mathematics, and Physics. Also, the quantity of lab reports I have written has given me an advantage in writing non-technical reports along with technical reports. I have worked as a college math privately and through other companies.
My teaching style is very simple and I believe it is effective. I have found that going through problems does not always help kids learn. I always try to tutor the basics and establish a plan for problem solving. The children need to know how to attach a problem not how to plug numbers into equations.

While pursuing an undergraduate program in Biology, I was fortunate to join the peer mentoring program at my school. As a peer mentor, I tutored in General Chemistry 1 and 2 for two years. I made counseled and guarded my peers in my area of study I also tutored in calculus 1 for a program by the division of science called City College Academic for Professional Preparation (CCAPP). I have not yet become a classroom teacher. I have already applied to summer school programs throughout the state. As a coach, I feel that it is essential to inspire students/my student athletes. If you can ingite a desire to learn in students, I believe everything falls into place after that. I enjoy placing my student athletes into small groups to discuss for certain periods of time, and then I like to spend the rest of the time talking to them as a whole.
