I have my Bachelor Degree in History, and I am also a certified substitute teacher. I have several years experience as a child care provider and tutor. I work hard at leading students to figure things out for themselves. But if they get too frustrated, I will spell things out more in detail. I draw a lot of pictures, but have learned that not all students find this helpful. So I try to present mathematics several ways: with numbers, with pictures, with symbols. At Trinity I gave the students lots of time in class to work in small groups on problems.
After earning my doctorate in math in 1966, I began teaching at the University of Massachusetts as an assistant professor of math. I was promoted to associate professor in 1972, and continued there until 1977. In 1977 I moved to South Bend to join a Christian community there. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught high school and middle school English, as well as one year of teaching at an alternative school. Additional experience would include substitute teaching, Boys and Girls Club instruction, being a Girl Scout leader, and Sunday school instruction.
