Many students encounter difficulty learning in a traditional school setting because the large class sizes do not afford the teacher the time to learn about each individual and attend to his or her specific needs. A Little Bit About Me...

Since April 2007, I have been a substitute teacher at both the Watkins Glen High School and Middle School. Frequent subjects include English, Psychology, and Physical Education. I belong to a writers group which meets at the local library every first and third monday. I belong to a chess club that meets at a coffee shop every Thursday. I also assistant coach varsity and college soccer during the spring and fall seasons.
I believe that education should present as much material to the student as possible, which includes using various textbooks, lecture, and inquiry. After that, it will be up to the student to assess and construct the information given in order to form his/her own opinion about the subject matter. Before I was able to tutor, I taught 7 year old girls cheerleading. When I began to tutor, I enjoyed being one on one with the child. I am very patient, punctual and considerate. I know children that need extra help need extra time. I find it personally rewarding to supplament a child's education. I also believe it is easier for a child to ask questions when they are one on one with an educator.
Beginning in high school I found myself driven to help children in need.
