All students learn in a different way. Primarily, I will try to tutor to that students strengths, but I will include other ways as well. This is to allow the student various opportunities to better expand a topic they struggle with and gain more knowledge on that topic. My goal is to give students the confidence to succeed in the math classroom.
I graduated with my masters in math education in 2008 from SUNY Fredonia. During the school year, I am a substitute teacher. During my past three years at St. John Fisher College I have been actively engaged in the chemistry department. When it comes to teaching or tutoring, I find that it is necessary to craft a pedagogical style that will match the learning style of your student. Each student learns in a different way, whether visually, aurally, kinesthetically, subconsciously, or simply by rote. I find that it is necessary to try each option with all students.
