My comments on tutoring Drawing : Whether a simple black and white drawing or an extensive life-like color drawing I can guide you to the heights of your talents.

I am a self-taught artist that has been drawing since the day I could pick up a pencil. I won many contests from Grade School up to High school. I now, as an adult, have hundreds of art pieces to my name, mostly portraits ranging from simple black and white pencil to in-depth Prismacolor pencil drawings. I also use watercolor, acrylic paints, and ink in various other pieces of art. Most of my time within the past couple of decades has been raising my children and working with Special Education students. The exhibits I won that are listed in the 'credentials' section are the only contests that I had ever entered and fortunately I won them. I am currently illustrating two children's books waiting for publication. I am recently retired and look to expand my art into a new career and hopefully can help others to expand theirs. So, if you are serious about art and want to learn to draw ... read more

I am a graduate of Ohio University with a bachelor's degree in English. In addition to studying English I also studied fine arts (painting, drawing, art history) and Spanish. I have tutored students from ages 5-18 in all subjects including English (reading and grammar), math, social studies, and science. My reading and grammar skills are helpful in all subjects because I am able to take apart sentences and paragraphs so that it is easier for students to understand. With my English background I am very helpful with reading assignments and book reports. I can help students with writing and editing papers as well as recognizing plot, themes, and motifs in stories, novels, and poems.
I love teaching students of all ages and I recognize that most students do not get the help they need during the school day, which is why it is important for them to get the help they need outside of clas ... read more

Education is a very important matter to me and always has been. Since first grade, I have wanted to be an educator and have always strived to achieve the greatest things that I could. I believe that it is vital to a student’s learning that the student should be pushed within their comfort level, to show themselves that they are capable of achieving great things. Even when we think we aren’t gaining anything from what we are doing there is a part that we keep with us. Everything is a learning experience if tr ... read more

As a foster parent, I tutored our first child as he progressed through kindergarten and the first grade. His previous school experience was lacking at best, and he had little confidence in his scholastic ability. I was able to pinpoint his natural aptitude--mathematics--and use it to help not only boost his self-esteem regarding academics, but also to tailor my approach to his other subjects as well. Since math is very much tied to logic, using logical constructs to aid him in his critical thinking proved fruitful in showing him how to solve problems regarding tasks such as alphabetization, grammar, and spelling, among others.
Each individual has a unique approach to critical thinking, and using that approach is the best way for that person to learn. I make every attempt to identify a person's perspective so as to shape my teaching for that person in the best possible way. Whe ... read more

As an MBA graduate I have consistently sought to continually improve and manage as many aspects of life that are presented to me. While achieving my BA in Philosophy I stretched my focus into the areas of science and mathematics, given my strengths in those areas. My MBA in Management facilitated the integration of my math and science skills into a practical system of approach and practice. My Calculus skills come in handy while everyone else is doing summations, I find integrals much faster. In addition to tutoring a variety of subjects from history and philosophy to statistics and calculus, I have also tutored students in English, Latin, writing, Geology, Chemistry, Geography, Biology, and Anthropology.
I thoroughly love teaching as I come from a line of teachers myself. I have demonstrated that learning happens on multiple levels depending on what level one is working on. ... read more
