Mathematics Teacher Grades 7-12

I am currently working as a substitute teacher in many districts in metro Detroit. I have taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Precalculus, and Trigonometry at Oakland Christian School where I did my student teaching internship. Although the majority of my work experience is in business, my selling and people skills are tremendous as a teacher. Kind and patient tutor for math, science & computing.

Although not degreed in math, science or computers, they were my favorite subjects. More importantly, I am gifted in communicating concepts into terms my students understand and grasp. When teaching, I not only want my students to be able to use basic formulas, but have a thorough understanding as well. I am very logical and exact in my thinking process. Since I am not good at reading minds, communication is very important. Let me know if you understand a topic or explanation. There are often a number of approaches to solving a problem which can be tried.
I am a graduate of Michigan State University and achieved a AS in applied mathematics, along with a BS in both computer science and mathematics. I was a teaching assistant at the university for three years, and assisted in the Learning center for a few more. I taught a few classes at Davenport University in Caro as well. I have tutored several math students before, and have given piano lessons to a number of students as well.
