Kaylin K - Ames, IA 50014 (32.4 mi) - Spelling Tutor - $56.00/hr.
I have recently graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in statistics. The coursework in this program has allowed me to gain an understanding of many areas of statistics and mathematics. In addition, I have learned grammatical skills through writing reports and essays in English classes. I have had experience tutoring young children in subjects such as math and reading, as well as college students in various math courses. I like helping students learn and seeing them succeed. I feel the best way to teach a student is by finding out which technique they most agree with. I am patient and easy going and want to provide the best education possible. With the appropriate learning experiences, I believe any student can meet their potential and my goal is to help them do so.

Sara S - Ames, IA 50010 (34.8 mi) - Spelling Tutor - $41.00/hr.
I recently earned my bachelor's degree in English, from Iowa State University. I have always helped friends/peers with English courses, whether it be writing, editing, proofreading, etc. I have also helped many people with music, being a musician myself. I have studied musical theory and played several instruments since I was in elementary school. I would feel most comfortable tutoring in music and English subjects. I love working with anyone who is willing to learn. It is a passion of mine to educate someone further on a certain subject, and to see them use what they've learned, not just for school but for situations outside of school as well.

Mary L - Algona, IA 50511 (37.8 mi) - Spelling Tutor - $38.00/hr.
Helping young children learn to read has been the most rewarding thing I have done. It is a joy to watch them catch on to new learning. I like working 1:1 or in small groups. It is important build on a student's strengths, linking to what they know, and tying instruction to his or her interests. Recently I retired from teaching Title I classes. Much of my work has been helping lower elementary students improve their reading skills, often in a 1:1 setting. Besides working with young students, I have worked as high as 8th grade. Usually I have assisted with reading, but I have also helped with math, too.
