I began teaching them in the first grade and have continued up to, and including, the present time. My son is now a high school freshman and my daughter is in the eighth grade. During this time I helped start a homeschool cooperative. My ability comes from experience...I was not entirely prepared for college when I started, and had to work much harder to successfully complete my degrees. That’s the reason some are faster to learn mathematical concepts while others are faster in literary concepts. I believe in going slow and asking my students to explain what they’ve learned in their own words. If they can do this easily it means they have mastered the concepts.
