Every student has a unique combination of learning styles, but he or she also has a predominant one such as visual learner, kinesthetic learner, etc. I try to figure out which style or styles the student responds to and use those styles to get through to the student. I also have the student explain the problem to me. Usually there is only one area where the student has gone astray in his or her thinking. By explaining the problem to me, I can see what he is and is not “getting.” Then we can concentrate only on what the student does not know.

I was included on the President’s Honor Roll (4.0 GPA) 5 times while attending Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK, and was awarded several scholarships based on academic performance. My interest in writing developed during my educational career at The University of Tulsa, where I had courses in advanced exposition and argumentation and writing for the professions along with literature classes in the areas of Russian and British Literature of the 18th Century, Eastern Literature, and Greek Literature.
