I love teaching and being around children. I love watching them grow and learn new things. I love the excitement and joy they have when they learn something new. I have learned that in order to be a good teacher, you have to be flexible and willing to teach in a variety of ways. Everyone learns differently and in their own time. I am a recent college graduate and I am looking for employment within my field. I have two years experience tutoring an elementary student. I worked with a student in second grade and tutored her in both Math and English. Because her mother and I communicated regularly, she was able to tell me of improvements and areas of subjects that needed more attention. I have always wanted to be a teacher, I couldn't really see myself doing anything else. I try to make learning and inclusive experience for all children. I feel that sometimes children's different learning styles get overlooked and then as a community we have a child that is left feeling that they are unworthy. My goal is to help all children learn at their pace and at their skill level, not at some standard set by the state. I am currently pursuing my Master's Degree in special education at Kent State University, and have a Bachelor's degree in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences. I have not tutored before, but I have previously worked in various settings that allowed me to work with students in trying to achieve their Individualized Education Plan goals.
