As a graduate student, I have successfully tutored a number of undergraduate students. I received my BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry. Currently, I have 15 graduate semester hours including Advanced biochemistry, parasitology, Advanced botany, and Plant development. In addition, I have extensively learned proper laboratory research paper formatting. I have tutored Anatomy/Physiology, general chemistry, and pharmacology. I enjoy teaching and helping other students understand difficult material. I love to use diagrams and other visual teaching tools. Often I relate biology to everyday life situations to help students understand better. Every student learns differently, but the material can be understood by every student.

During my schooling, I have earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education as well as a master's in Library and Information Studies. In addition I have teaching certificates for both fields as well as Biology. I've held Library, Biology, General Science, English and Math teaching positions. I also have experience tutoring students in all of these areas. I am an avid believer in authentic learning and have taught using differential instruction for many years. I believe that students learn by doing and therefore provide real life experiences to allow students to learn at their own pace.

Having struggled through four years of attempting to learn chemistry at the undergraduate level, listening to “inarticulate though erudite” lectures on various topics in chemistry in the dank, damp, hallowed halls of the University of Paisley, I was determined to redress the balance in favor of the student. My ideas on education have not changed much since those early days, though perhaps now I am better qualified to express these sentiments in line with stated educational theory.
