It’s very satisfying when I see a student’s mental light click on and their eyes light up in understanding after they figure something out. Positive encouragement is very important too. I have a BA in Creative Writing, which I have put to use not only in my writing but I am a proofreader to several other beginning author’s stories. As an administrator of a school I oversaw the education of children from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I have eight years experience teaching algebra I, five years teaching business math. I have eleven years experience teaching English grammar from third grade through twelfth grade. I have taught fourth grade for three years, fifth grade for three years and sixth grade for two years. My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process.
