A Little Bit About Me...

I have been studying education since my high school graduation in hopes of one day being the choir director at my high school.At the moment I am a student at UTEP studying bilingual elementary education and plan to receive a masters in music education after receiving my bachelors degree. I am currently a subsitute teacher and am hoping to continue helping students with their studies in the summer and weekends. In my schooland work experience I have worked with children of all grade levels and all subjects.
I am firm but like to use students life experiences and hobbies to teach them subjects. Younger students I like to teach through play due to the fact that I am a firm believer that children learn through play.

A Little Bit About Me...

My work as a master’s student in New Mexico State University involved investigating the epidemiology of methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) in a unique geographical region, El Paso Del Norte region and my research as a doctoral student then focused on the fusidic acid-resistance mechanisms of S. aureus. During this time I have been able to acquire expertise in diverse areas of science. Furthermore, I have also published my findings in recognized Scientific journals thus allowing to master my grammatical skills.
My ultimate goal as a microbiologist is to become an academic scientist. I would like to convey the knowledge that I have acquired so far to future scientist and by doing this helping them reach their goals. Each child is different. On a one on one setting, it would be advantageous to allow the student some freedom so that their learning style leads to maximum learning. My goal is to teach the student to love self-learning so that the student appreciates learning without a tutor or teacher present. All children can learn in an environment conducive to learning given the tools needed to cope with whatever stress may be interfering with their education process. I strive to connect with the student so that the student knows I am willing to impart a love of learning to them, not just give them a bunch of facts.

I have good analytical and diagnostic skills. I am able to take students at their present levels of cognitive ability and help them to progress and also reinforce concepts that the students might have missed and need to master for complete understanding. I am patient and encourage students to ask questions and offer suggestions. I firmly believe that teaching basic skills and study habits will create successful lifelong learners.
