A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught math for thirty five (35) years at Lexington high school. I taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, enriched (honors) Algebra 2, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, Pre calculus and Senor Math (Trig and Analytical Geometry) and Geometry. I also was also a visiting instructor at a branch of Ohio State for two years teaching Transitions to Math (review of Algebra for college students) I coached football for 35 years and track for 33 years at the high school and junior high level. I have a BS in Math from Baldwin Wallace (1974) and a MA in Math Education from Ohio University(1981). I have also numerous hours after the MA from attending seminars and enrichment courses,

I am a recent college graduate and I am looking for employment within my field. I have two years experience tutoring an elementary student. I worked with a student in second grade and tutored her in both Math and English. Because her mother and I communicated regularly, she was able to tell me of improvements and areas of subjects that needed more attention. I am very enthusiastic about being able to work with students of any age. As a recent college graduate, I feel that I will be able to relate and connect with all ages of students. I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. I enjoy teaching and couldn't see myself doing much else.
