I truly enjoy working with students of all ages. It doesn't matter what they don't know because I believe anyone can be taught anything, at least as long as you have the right teacher and materials at your disposal. I believe students are like little sponges. They're taking in everything around them. Obviously, if you fill their heads with garbage, they will learn garbage. However, if you fill their heads with quality information, you explain it in a way that they understand, and you make it fun for them to learn, then they will learn everything you're trying to teach. I am a recent graduate from Purdue University - Calumet. I majored in English Literature and plan on obtaining my teaching certificate in the state of Florida. I have not had much experience. Reading is one of my top subjects! Reading is a passion for me for two reasons; One because I am an avid reader and two because my older brother has a learning disability and I spend evenings helping him with his English/reading homework. With any student I would like to achieve a grade level increase.

I have some experience in tutoring in general. I have tutored fellow students who played the flute, I have also tutored fellow students on reading and spelling. I have a brother with a learning disability so I spent my entire adolescence helping him with his school assignments and helping him with his reading disability.
I work with the students making them feel comfortable, never making the feel overwhelmed but enough work that they are working on the assignments that I give them.
